Blogger and the Radiant Shadows Book Trailer

So, if you've been to my blog before you may have noticed it looks different. Blogger has this new Template Designer and I decided to give it a go.  I'm not sure if I like it better or not but I'm gonna live with the new look a week before making a final decision. So far I like the template layout on this one better but I wanted to change the text font and couldn't. I preferred the Georgia to the Arial font and wanted some italics in certain places that I couldn't get it. Overall though it's pretty good; I like the flexibility in layout and the color is brighter.

go to http://bloggerindraft.blogspot.com/  for the March 11th post and you can play around with your own look as well.

Also, I'm a big fan of Melissa Marr's Wicked Lovely series and the trailer for Radiant Shadows, the 4th book, came out yesterday!  Can't wait to read this book!

SO exciting :D
It's a YA paranormal book about the fey and human worlds colliding and it has romance, dark drama, and a lot of mythology. Mortals and faery alike become entangled in power struggles as they work to try and find where they belong.

Nothing Like a Good Cup of Joe...

Joe who? Whoever he was, his blood is vamp coffee now ;)
Get ready for June 13th on HBO sNitChEs!!
True Blood season 3 premieres on HBO this summer on Sundays an you can download the first of 12 posters here.

If you haven't seen the show, HBO will be playing encores of season 2 and I think both season's 1 and 2 will be available "on-demand" as well.  And though the show is awesOme, if you haven't read the Sookie Stackhouse books you're missing out on the real deal. Trust me, you wanna read the books. Eric is hawt, HaWt, hAwT in the books and the drama Sookie faces is so much more exciting too.

the Zombie Apocalypse :o

I just saw Zombieland last night and it's awesome! My favorite thing of all was a Bill Murray cameo that made me laugh so hard I started coughing like the asthmatic I am, lol

And speaking of zombies, Carrie Ryan's "unconsecrated" in her book The Forest of Hands and Teeth are back for book 2 in the series, The Dead-Tossed Waves, which released a couple weeks ago. I haven't had a chance to buy it yet but I sure will be doing so asap. It's an freakin' kick-ass romance/post-apocalyptic/dystopic/horror story and I couldn't put it down when I read the first one.
Now check out the creepy book trailer!

Bright Star

Because I love books and the written word as an artform I'm often driven to reading and learning about the authors, poets, and creators of such things.
While I am not at all a proper student of literature, I am of course familiar with "the greats" that every high school literature class tries to introduce to students.  So I was intrigued to see Bright Star on dvd.

Jane Campion's film is based on the biography Keats by Andrew Motion, from which she was inspired by his love letters to Fanny.  It's a beautiful movie. The film photography is absolutely stunning in its depth of field and colors. And the story is both a tragic drama and a romance at once.  I can not believe he was only 25 when he died and had written such poems by then....

Bright star, would I were stedfast as thou art--
Not in lone splendour hung aloft the night
And watching, with eternal lids apart,
Like nature's patient, sleepless Eremite,
The moving waters at their priestlike task
Of pure ablution round earth's human shores,
Or gazing on the new soft-fallen mask
Of snow upon the mountains and the moors--
No--yet still stedfast, still unchangeable,
Pillow'd upon my fair love's ripening breast,
To feel for ever its soft fall and swell,
Awake for ever in a sweet unrest,
Still, still to hear her tender-taken breath,
And so live ever--or else swoon to death.
~John Keats

John Keats on 23 February 1821 and was immortalized as the quintessential poet in Shelley's Adonais.

Blog Tour: Demon Possesed by Stacia Kane

published: February 23rd 2010 by Pocket (first published 2010)

details: Mass Market Paperback, 321 pages
isbn: 1439167613    (isbn13: 9781439167618)

Psychologist and psychic Megan Chase has grown remarkably comfortable hanging out with demons. The demon "family" she leads is happy, her solo practice is stabilizing, and she and her steamy demon lover, Greyson Dante, are closer than ever. But when the couple books a week at a luxury hotel to attend a meeting of demon leaders, some unanticipated problems appear. An FBI agent with an unhealthy interest in less-than-legitimate demon business practices shows up; the demon community is urging Megan to undergo the rite that will make her a real demon; and a slightly shady minister is holding one of his wildly popular "weekend exorcisms" just down the road. And oh, yes, someone with scary magical abilities is attempting to kill her. Then, just when it seems as if things couldn't possibly get any worse, a secret comes to light that could jeopardize Megan and Greyson's future -- if Megan manages to live that long. With things heating up, it's becoming difficult for her to keep a cool head...
 --book summary from goodreads.com

Review:
As a psychic and a psychologist, Megan should probably know better than to get mixed up with demons but she's involved with the demon Greyson Dante and she soon realizes that if she wants to have any real future with him, she herself will have to become a demon. Not an easy decision as you can imagine. Not only that, but there's a bunch of different forces working against her and a good mystery ensues, along with some spicy scenes with Greyson.
Although this is book 3 in the series, it was my first introduction to Megan Chase and her crazy world. The fact that I hadn't read the two previous books made it a little bit confusing to figure out who was who and what exactly was going on at first, but I did eventually catch up and was able to enjoy the story. It's a fun series and I will definitely be going backwards to read books 1(Personal Demons) & 2 (Demon Inside) in the series.

❤ AnGeLs and DEmoNs : rOmANce StYle ❤

the demons:

I've been reading Larissa Ione's Demonica series and the cover for book 5, Sin Undone, was just unveiled a couple days ago

Isn't she purdy? And it's gonna be prettier in person because the cover is gonna have a silver metallic finish to it, the way the others had their covers done.
I love this series for its humor and the unique take on the protagonists as demons, with their explanation of heaven n' hell that leads them to say Oh Gods instead of the singular Oh God.
If your looking for another fun paranormal series the Demonica series is perfect.

the angels:

I discovered Nalini Singh because of the Guild Hunter series and now have begun reading her previous Psy books because of how much I loved vampire hunter Elena Deveraux and the dangerous Archangel Raphael.  Elena's will mixed with her haunted past add up to a fascinating great female lead and a great match for the vamps, angels, and other freak shows in this world.
Again, the stereotypes are thrown on their head because Singh's angels and archangels are not at all how popular conventions have depicted them. Angels are lethal, powerful, and completely not human.  I devoured Angel's Blood (book 1) and enjoyed it so much I requested Archangel's Kiss (book 2) for Valentine's Day from my boyfriend, lol

It's definitely one of my top romance faves, and I
Can't wait for book 3 in this series :D
...and note to Nalini~ I needz more Illium & his blue wings, stat!

MUST-READ paranormal series!

So I know a lot of y'all have read Richelle Mead's YA series Vampire Academy but have you picked up her adult fiction Georgina Kincaid series? If not, then definitely add it to your TBR list and while your at it, enter this fab contest at BOOK FAERY!  It's one of my favorites and Georgina's drama in her Succubus life really gets you emotionally involved and ready to panic at the end of book 4, lol!
In order to celebrate the release of SUCCUBUS SHADOWS on March 30th, the winner gets all 4 books in the series so far! That includes:

Succubus Blues
Succubus on Top
Succubus Dreams
Succubus Heat

Become a Sea Person! and win arc of SEA by @HeidiRKling!

SEA by Heidi R. Kling--Available Bookstores everywhere June 10, 2010, pre-order now!

Haunted by recurring nightmares since her mother's accidental disappearance over the Indian ocean three years before, fifteen year old California girl Sienna "Sea" Jones reluctantly travels with her father's volunteer team to six months post-tsunami Indonesia. During her stay at the orphanage, she meets scarred and soulful Deni who is more like Sea than anyone she has ever met.

She knows they can't be together, so why can't she stay away from him? And what about her old-best-friend-turned-suddenly-hot Spider who may or may not be waiting for her back home? And why is her psychiatrist father so secretive about her mother's plane crash? The farther she gets from home, the closer she comes to the truth. And Sea's real adventure begins.

"SEA is a richly woven story as turbulent and beautiful as the sea itself, plunging us headlong into the depths of loss, devastation, compassion, and hope. A touching and romantic debut about the redemptive power of altruism and the heart's capacity for love."
---Sarah Ockler, author of TWENTY BOY SUMMER

"I was enchanted from the first sentence. At once heartbreaking and hopeful, Heidi R. Kling’s debut novel follows a California teenager who, mourning the death of her mother, travels to Indonesia to help tsunami survivors. While the setting is unique, the story of love and loss is utterly relatable. Sienna’s relationship with the beautiful, complicated Deni is compelling, romantic and real."
---Courtney Sheinmel, author of POSITIVELY and MY SO-CALLED FAMILY

"Heidi R. Kling takes us on a journey to an unfamiliar geography, but where we all recognize the emotional vocabulary of loss and grief, of attraction and love. And we long to speak the language." --Vivian Leal, Kepler’s Books

I'm Lovin' me some Patricia Briggs novels, y'all

Cry Wolf (Alpha & Omega, #1) Cry Wolf by Patricia Briggs

My rating: 5 of 5 stars
When working the reference desk at work, I get a feel for certain books that just start to grow in popularity right before my eyes. Well, the Patricia Briggs books certainly fit that category. I've been getting patrons come in all the time asking for "the Mercy Thompson books" but as I already have huge tbr list, I kept putting off picking them up. Finally my curiosity kicked in and I googled "Patricia Briggs book 1" to put it on hold on my library account, but I didn't realize there were 2 series going :")Long story short, I read "Cry Wolf" book 1 of her Alpha and Omega series which is set in the Mercy Thompson world but not the same series itself. It doesn't matter though because I LOVED this book and went right on to read book 2 last night!! Since there aren't any more books in the series yet, I'm getting Moon Called (book 1 of the Mercy Thompson novels) this week so I can catch up on that series too. The writing and story are awesome and Anna Latham, the A&O heroine, had a fascinating life that includes weres, fae, & vamps. Sookie Stackhouse fans will love it.
